50 öre, Stockholm, Oscar II, 1883
50-öre coins were minted in both Sweden and Norway from 1875 onwards. Denmark, on the other hand, only started issuing 50-öre coins in 1989, long after the Scandinavian Coinage Union had played out its role and was formally cancelled in 1972.
In Sweden, the last silver 50-öre coins were issued in 1961 and the last time the 50-öre coin was issued at all was in 2009. At this time, it was a bronze coin since a number of years.
