10 kronor, Helsinglands Enskilda Bank, 1879

Helsinglands Enskilda Bank (Helsingebanken) came into being in 1874 and was based in Söderhamn. The riksdaler had just been discontinued at that time, and kronor and öre coinage had been introduced in Sweden. The bank printed 5, 10, 50 and 100-krona banknotes the following year.

This 10-krona banknote dating back to 1879 shows a bust portrait of Minerva and the coat of arms of the province of Hälsingland, depicting a goat. This banknote was printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co in London.

The bank issued banknotes from 1874 to 1879 and gave up its right to issue banknotes in 1903. It was incorporated into Mälareprovinsernas Bank AB in 1917.
