50 kronor, Tumba, Sveriges riksbank, 1996
When the 20-krona note was first issued in 1992, the issue of 50-krona notes ceased. But both the general public and merchants missed the 50-krona note. The Riksbank therefore decided in 1996 to reissue the 50-krona note, this time with the singer Jenny Lind as the main motif. In addition to her portrait, the front features texts from Vincenzo Bellini's opera Norma, music with which Jenny Lind had great success during her career.
The reverse is adorned with a silver bass harp, and a row of notes showing its range. In the background is also part of the score of Sven-David Sandström's work ‘Pictures for Percussion and Orchestra’.
