1 dukat, Pommern-Stettin, Karl X Gustav, 1656

Karl X Gustav’s ducat shows the king in armour with a crown, an orb, a sceptre and a sword. On the reverse (back), we see the coat of arms of Pomerania together with the inscription in Latin: MONETA NOVA DUCA POMERA – the new coin of the Duchy of Pomerania. Ducats and taler were often minted for use as gift coins from the mid-17th century onwards.
