A beer pollett used at Åkers styckebruk – ironwork
Wood token with lacquer seal used at ‘Åkers styckebruk’, an ironworks. The company was founded around 1580 and supplied the crown with cannons until the time of the parliamentary reform in 1866. As with most mills and larger businesses, tokens were used at the mill, in this case the token is intended for beer. The choice of wood and varnish for the tokens is an example of the fact that most materials were used for the production of tokens.
