10 kronor, Kalmar Enskilda Bank, 1877

Kalmar Enskilda Bank in Småland began operating in 1867, taking over Smålands Enskilda Bank with offices in the same town. The 1877 banknotes depict the Roman god Mercury and the goddess Ceres. This 10-krona banknote dating back to 1877 was printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Leipzig.

The 1894 banknotes show Kalmar Castle and Queen Margareta holding the Treaty of Kalmar on her lap.

The bank issued banknotes from 1867 to 1898 and gave up its right to issue banknotes in 1902. The bank became Bank AB Södra Sverige in 1906.
