Örtug, Stockholm, Kristian I, 1457–1464

This örtug bearing the initial K is very rare. The inscription reads CHRISSTERNNE REX (King Kristian) and HONETA STOCKHOLH.

Kristian I was King of Sweden from 1457 to 1464, of Denmark from 1448 to 1481, and of Norway from 1449 to 1481. All of his Swedish örtugs were struck at the Stockholm mint. They show a shield bearing three crowns on one side and the letter K (for Kristian) or C (for Christiern) on the other.

This coin has a low silver content, 556/1000.
