20 kronor, Stockholm, Oscar II, 1873
The motifs on the Swedish 20-krona were the portrait of King Oscar II and the large Swedish coat of arms. Below the king's portrait we see the initials of the coin and medal artist Lea Ahlborn, ""L A"". Lea was employed at the Royal Mint from 1855 to 1897 and is usually considered to be Sweden's first female civil servant.
The last 20-krona gold coin was minted in 1925, and in Sweden the 20-krona coin has not returned as it did in Denmark and Norway - although then in aluminium bronze and aluminium brass respectively.
