10 kronor, Christinehamns enskilda bank, 1884
Enskilda Banken i Christinehamn began operating in Värmland in 1866. Its name was changed to Christinehamns Enskilda Bank in 1875.
The banknotes issued by the bank show Queen Kristina’s portrait on the obverse. Under her regency government, Kristinehamn was granted town privileges in 1642. The eagle on the 10-krona note dating back to 1884 is part of the Värmland coat of arms. This banknote was printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co in London.
The bank issued banknotes between 1866 and 1884 and gave up its right to issue banknotes in 1901.
