Medal of Jonas Alströmer
This medal was striuck in honour of Jonas Alströmer and the Alingsås Manufakturverk by Carl Gustaf Tessin, a member of the Council of State, after a visit to the workshops in 1753.
Carl Gustaf had been a shareholder in the manufactory for a long time through the manufactory society that was founded in 1725 to contribute money to the organisation. Commitment at the manufactories was high, as it was hoped that domestic production could reduce imports of a number of goods and also allow refined goods to be exported.
