Penning, Svealand, Valdemar Birgersson, 1250–1275
King Valdemar's coins from Svealand shows a royal crown in several variants. Only one of them has a possible V under the crown, which in that case stands for Valdemar.
Some corresponding Götaland coins show the letters VAL under a crown. Several lead impressions from the production of the crown coins with a smooth ring, but without the V, have been found in the remains of the mint in Örebro. An imprint has also been found of his brother Magnus Ladulås' Swabian bracteate with M.
Valdemar and his brother Magnus Ladulås fought for power for many years. Magnus was victorious in 1275.
