5 riksdaler riksmynt, Södermanlands Enskilda Bank, 1867
Södermanlands Enskilda Bank was based in Nyköping from 1867. The bank found its strongest support among landowners and farmers.
Banknotes were issued in denominations of 5, 10, 50 and 100 riksdaler riksmynt. The Södermanland coat of arms, a griffin, is shown as the first vignette. The 5 riksdaler riksmynt features the coat of arms of the province and symbols of the industries.
All of the bank’s notes were printed at the P. A. Nyman printing works in Stockholm. It issued banknotes from 1867 to 1898 and gave up its right to issue banknotes in 1902.
