4 öre, Stockholm, Karl XII, 1716

During the years 1716-1718, 642,310 silver 4 öre coins were struck. According to the Ordinance, a 4 öre coin should weigh 2.93 grams and have a silver content of 375/1000. The first 4 öre (1/2 mark) was minted in 1536 when Gustav Vasa was king. At that time, the coin had to weigh 6.58 grams and have a silver content of 625/1000. After 1718, no more 4 öre coins were minted in Sweden.
