50 öre, Eskilstuna, Carl XVI Gustaf, 1976
50-öre coins were produced in two different forms under the current King Carl XVI Gustaf. This is the older version, minted between 1976 and 1991. The coin is made of copper and nickel and has a silvery colour. One side shows the King's initials and regent number combined in a so-called monogram, together with the year of manufacture of the coin. The other side shows the denomination together with the inscription SVERIGE and the mintmark of the workshop in Eskilstuna (E) and the mintmaster Bengt Ulvfot's initial (U). The mintmaster was the one who led the work in the workshop.
As with all öre coins, this is today invalid as a means of payment. The coin was removed on 30 September 2010.
