10 kronor, Gefleborgs Enskilda Bank, 1875
Gefleborgs Enskilda Bank was founded in Gävle in 1865 under the name of Gefleborgs läns Enskilda Bank. The name Gefleborgs Enskilda Bank was adopted in 1874.
The first banknotes issued by the bank were in riksdaler riksmynt. They bore the coat of arms of Gästrikland, depicting an elk, and the coat of arms of Hälsingland, depicting a goat. From 1875, banknotes were issued in 5, 10, 50 and 100-krona denominations.
The 10-krona banknote of 1875 was issued under the second charter, i.e. the second period of authorisation to conduct banking operations, which continued until 1885. This banknote was printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co in London.
The bank issued banknotes from 1865 to 1875 and gave up its right to issue banknotes in 1903.
