1 krona, Eskilstuna, Carl XVI Gustaf, 1976

This special type of 1-krona coin was produced between 1976 and 2000.The unusual way in which the King's profile portrait is depicted here compared with other coins is due to the fact that it was designed by the artist Lars Englund. Along with the name of the kingdom and the king, the coin's year of issue, 1976, is also shown here. The other side of the coin is adorned with Sweden's small coat of arms under a crown with the King's motto ‘FOR SWEDEN - IN TIME’. At the bottom is the denomination of the coin.

This type of one-krona coin became invalid as a means of payment in 2017.
