This ducat is made of gold from the Ädelfors mine in Småland. The motif on the reverse of the coin tells us about the origin of the gold. Under the small crowned coat of arms, surrounded by the chain of the Order of the Seraphim, we see the provincial coat of arms of Småland with a lion holding a crossbow. During Adolf Fredrik's reign from 1751 to 1771, gold ducats were issued for 13 years. In 1752, only 28 were issued, while in the other years, between 239 and 951 were issued.
