The Långhalsen Hoard
The Vikings brought back lots of silver coins known as Islamic dirhams from their travels to the east. These coins were handed over to them as payment for furs, slaves and other goods. The import of dirhams declined at the end of the 10th century. The Vikings increased their contact with Western Europe instead.
